If you are building a new build, have a power supply in place or are prepared to have a power supply installed, then opting for a mains wired system is the ideal solution. Motorised systems are available for all types of blinds including roller and roman and can also be used with a variety of curtain tracks, including the popular Silent Gliss wave system. They can also be wired so that they are operated via your AV system, or if you prefer they can be operated by a remote control, timer or a simple wall switch.

Electric curtain tracks and blinds are the perfect solution if you have a large expanse of window area to dress. They are a brilliant idea for bi folding doors, bay windows or windows that are difficult to reach and are great for operating several blinds all at the same time. Plus of course being able to operate your curtains and blinds on a timer whilst you are on holiday, is a fantastic deterrent to any unwanted guests whilst you are away!

Battery Operated Blinds

For those of you who do not wish to opt for mains operated systems, then a battery operated or a simple plug in system is for you. Battery operated systems are available for most blinds and come with rechargeable batteries and handy chargers, just like you would use for your phone. These systems are ideal if you have children as they are inherently child safe, due to not having any chains, plus another thing in their favour is that they are a less costly version of the mains wired systems.

Silent Gliss also offer a plug in electric track called the Auto glide system. This is a great entry level product, allowing customers to have the option of automated curtains with a remote, switch and timer, but at a more affordable price.
