Working with an Interior Designer

At Amersham Designs, our friendly team will make sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the whole process. But it’s great to have an idea of how we work, and what you can do to get the best out of your time with us.

Our tips for getting the most out of your time with us

Share your ideas, mood boards, styles and colours

Before we meet take some time to gather all your ideas. This can be anything from colours and fabrics you like, magazines, photos and notes. And also share with us things you don’t like!

You might like to collect a folder of ideas together. Or collate ideas on your computer,  perhaps using Pinterest or Canva. Whichever way you prefer.

Be upfront about budgets

Consider your budget carefully, and let us know from the start. We can then ensure we are presenting appropriate ideas and plans to you. It’s also crucial to let us know any timescales you have in mind and if there are deadlines we need to consider.

Get involved in the design process - if you like!

You might be wondering how involved you should be in the process. That is really up to you! Be involved in every step and enjoy choosing all the details. Or you can take a step back in the knowledge our design team will take care of everything for you.

Not for you? Be honest!

Sometimes it might not feel easy to say if you don’t like something we’ve presented to you, but please do. We want to get it right for you, and it’s much easier to change things earlier in the process. Our team want all your feedback, so if you’re not sure then let us know and we can explore other options for your scheme.

Keep in touch

Keeping in contact throughout the project is key to ensuring things run smoothly. Getting and giving feedback and working with you to get the result you want.

I'd love to work with you, what happens next?

You’ve decided you’d like to work with an Interior Designer, but are unsure of how the process works and what exactly we can do? Here is the step by step guide to how Amersham Designs works.

1. Initial Meeting

We will either meet you at your home or our showroom. This is where we find out all the details from you, timescales, budgets and of course all your design ideas.

2. Proposal

Next, you’ll receive our proposal. This will include a scope of works and our fees. We work with a full interiors team - we can specify and supply kitchens, joinery, lighting and so much more. You only need to work with us to manage your whole interior project.

4. Site Survey

Once you’ve accepted our proposal we then attend a site survey. At this point we can give you an estimated budget for the areas if required, and start looking at options in more detail.

5. Concept Meeting

Here things start to come to life! We’ll share with you samples, concepts and styles. We can exchange ideas and get to know what you like.

6. Follow Up Meeting

We present a draft concept board to you. This will include a more detailed furniture plan, honed to your vision. There’ll be some key items confirmed and options presented for other items.

7. Revised Scheme Meeting, and final sign off

Once you are totally happy with the scheme presented to you, we provide a final quotation to supply make and install.

8. We install your design

We order, organise and manage all the tradespeople for the install. We provide full project management, so you don’t have to worry about booking people in, when items are arriving or keeping track of tradespeople.
