A textural fabric based on the bark of the Banyan trees found all around Java. Whilst embroidery in appearance it is in fact a jacquard AND SUITABLE FOR DRAPERY AND UPHOLSTERY. Its raised relief emulates natural organic undulations reflective of the bark and creates a suble contrast of colour and pattern to make Java a distinctive semi-plain fabric.
Inspired by the records of female Victorian travellers, who criss-crossed the world in a corset. They recorded their adventures through paintings and drawings incorporating the colours and textures of plants, patterns, and vistas from destinations including Siam, Ceylon and Java. Voyager is a decorative collection featuring embroidered and jacquard fabrics for full room decorating.
