Interior Design

We took control of every task in this turn-key project. Everything in this second-floor apartment near Hampton Court was stripped right back.

The comprehensive brief included new electrics, lighting, boiler, skirting, architraves, internal doors, built-in cabinetry, bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, decorating, furniture, and accessories. Working on every element of a renovation project like this means our team can make sure every single element of a design and build is perfect.

Our clients wanted a home that felt classic, contemporary, elegant, and comfortable. Currently, this is a second home but will become a forever home – excellent quality was key. We went for a neutral and blue colour scheme, an ideal choice for creating a harmonious space, leaving room to play with the details.

Living Room and Dining Area

As is often the case in apartments, we had a relatively small space to work with for the living and dining area. The living room and dining area had to be carefully designed to accommodate a good-sized seating area and dining area. Our clients wanted to enjoy good conversation with guests in both the sitting and dining areas. So, we planned the space with conversation in mind.

Drawing on our space-saving techniques for this area, we created a truly functional room. There are some great compact furniture options for smaller spaces, avoiding that feeling of clutter and overwhelm. We opted for swivel occasional chairs, adding flexibility to the space, and some beautiful bar stools.

The banquet seating in the dining area not only looks on trend (especially in the amazing graphic print fabric), but now the area is closer to the corner of the room, creating space.  Banquet seating is also ideal for seating more people around a table, great for families too.  The dining table looks stunning, and the glass top makes things feel lighter. Check out the incredible sculptural base – now this hits you with the wow factor! And there are no table legs getting in the way either.

This is the main living space, so we went for clever built-in cabinetry on either side of the fireplace. There is a chimney breast hidden underneath.  Taking centre stage is a beautiful mirror - actually the TV. Such a neat idea. The cabinetry is all by Simpsons, who also made the bespoke side tables and a gorgeous sideboard.

We chose a narrow coffee table to keep things balanced – glass and gold, a beautiful piece. Choosing furniture that is the right size for the space is key to making a room feel just right.

The comfy sofa and chairs are all upholstered in different blue-toned fabrics, mixing textures and patterns adds depth and interest. Resulting in a beautiful, calming and inviting space.

The details bring everything together. Gorgeous lamps illuminate areas around the room, and we went for a totally stunning pendant above the dining table. It’s a work of art! Some more artwork on the walls brings the whole room together.

Kitchen

We do love this transformation.  The brief was a classic kitchen that made use of every single inch of space.  We knocked down a wall and removed the old kitchen, replacing it with an open-plan bespoke kitchen. This is where using a designer and opting for a bespoke kitchen can add so much to your space.

Designed by us and made bespoke by our cabinet maker. The internal shelves are all oak, with quartzite worktops and backsplash. The use of quality materials ensures this kitchen will last our clients forever.

We had to hide the gas boiler, so we incorporated it into a larder until that sits on the peninsular. If you can't move something like a boiler then consider incorporating it into the design, even make a feature of it.

We went for motorized Roman blinds for convenience and classic styling. Then voile roller blinds to help with privacy - very useful in apartments where you may be overlooked.

Master Bedroom

Carrying through the classic feel into the Master Bedroom, our aim was to create a relaxing bedroom that felt stylish and luxurious.

We used the same wallcovering throughout the property. This creates a flow through the rooms and the perfect neutral ground for the furnishings to pop against.

We painted the bespoke fitted wardrobes in a soft cream, with bronze and shagreen handles. Details like this look incredible in neutral schemes. They have a chance to shine.

We love these curtains. We opted for a classic fabric and finished with a bobble trim. Little playful touches like this lift the room, adding softness. We covered the curtain laths for a neater look and finished with custom tiebacks. Motorised twist blinds were fitted inside the recess. Lots of options to let in light and control privacy.

The bed is dressed for some luxe lounging - the bespoke headboard, cushions, and a beautiful throw.

The Atelier's bench, sofa and occasional chair complement the colour palette. We love the dressing table, inspired by a classic ‘30s design. The natural tones of the vellum finish bring real elegance to the room.

The velvet carpet provides that walking-on-a-cloud feeling. A luxurious feeling under your feet when you step out of bed in the morning is essential in our opinion.

Adding lamps for the finishing touch - the deep blue shades with the sculptural glass bases bring everything together.

The ensuite is also a compact space, so we kept everything in the same position. The space-saving mirrored cabinet set into the wall, a sliding shower door, wall-hung WC and push-catch drawers on the vanity unit. Altogether creating a simple and streamlined ensuite, making the most of the space.

The vanity unity was custom coloured to match the bedroom scheme for a high-end seamless look.

Guest Bedroom

The brief for this room: a study that could be a second bedroom for when guests visit. We designed a stunning bespoke bookcase with drawers, this slides open and reveals a hidden fold-down bed.  Crafted by our expert cabinet maker, our client couldn’t have been happier with the result. Really clever furniture.

Teamed with desk, console, sofa, and chairs for a versatile and flexible room.

Style, storage and somewhere to sleep!

Hallway

The hallway flows into the rest of the apartment with the same wallcovering and herringbone oak flooring. The herringbone pattern is great for narrow spaces, making them feel wider. As hallway space is at a premium, we didn't clutter it with too much furniture. We went for a full-length mirror to greet you when you open the front door, adding the illusion of space and reflecting light. A small console and nest of tables, then another mirror above the console. Such a welcoming hallway to arrive home to.

Cloakroom/Family Bathroom

Here our client wanted to change the use of the family bathroom to a cloakroom and laundry room. We'd always encourage you to think about whether you need to use rooms as they are, or if they can be better suited to other purposes. The washer and dryer sit in another brilliant bespoke unit with space-saving sliding doors. We added a WC and vanity unit with an inset mirrored cabinet. Our client wanted the same tiles as used in the master ensuite. A great technique in smaller properties to bring continuity and flow, the herringbone floor from the hallway also flows into this room. We then add different touches for individuality in each space – like the different coloured vanity units.

Such a gorgeous London apartment, ready for our clients to move in and enjoy for a long time to come. Filled with high-quality materials and furniture, with beautiful use of colour throughout. We, and our clients, are absolutely thrilled with this one!
