This moquette was designed by prolific designer, Enid Marx, circa 1938 and soon after used to re-upholster seats on overground transport links, as well as on the tube trains that operated on the Piccadilly and Central Underground Lines. Originally a wool, this mosaic effect design with a woven geometric herringbone pattern is now presented on luxurious velvet in contrasting colourways.

Continuing the success of Kirkby Design’s first collaboration with Transport for London (TfL), Underground Vol.II features a carefully considered curation of 7 distinct designs, originating from individual London transport lines. Readapted as luxury upholstery velvets and playing with scale, texture and colour, these sophisticated geometrics are presented in an entirely modern, trend driven palette. With designs ranging from the 1930s to present day, Underground Vol.II taps into the rich design history of TfL, vividly commemorating an iconic aspect of London’s design identity.
