The Banjara tribe are a nomadic tribe originating from Rajasthan known for their intricate embroidered textiles. This stunning design is on a rich indigo ground that is literally covered in the most exquisite embroidery that uses a plethora of stitch techniques and a multitude of fine ocean-coloured yarns.

Exquisite embroideries bought in Lucknow, northern India, and beautiful hand-loomed striped fabrics found in Coimbatore in south eastern India add layers of exotic interest. Stunning chenille weaves from Anatolia, Ikat patterns and Navajo blanket designs from the Americas complete the look.
