Checkerboard is a large-scale checkerboard design which is surface printed to give it a hand-blocked appearance, allowing reticulation to form when it dries. The fabric versions of this design can be found in the Formation collection as a knit and in the Segment Prints book as a print on recycled cotton.

These wallcoverings are printed on a blended ground of plant based FSC (The Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood pulp and corn fibre. Corn fibre is a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice, as corn is a renewable resource that can be grown and harvested with limited impact on the environment. Additionally, the manufacturing process produces 30% less greenhouse gas than traditional wallpaper materials, such as vinyls and papers containing polyester.
