A floral but make it arty; an explosion of chaotic detail and colour, this abstract design was originally a hand painted collage comprising a multitude of layers. The overall effect of the collage is full of movement and energy, as if the flowers are bursting forth in a frenetic display. Digitally printed onto a smooth velvet for maximum impact, the soft pile coupled with the richness of colour ensures its irresistibility.

A hero collection of original designs woven in a mixture of innovative qualities, including a layered pocket weave, chunky knit, relaxed embroidery, detailed jacquard and sophisticated velvets. Inspirationally, this collection looked to rugged landscapes and the flora one might find there, as well as graphic structures informing geometrics that continue to be a consistent trend in the Kirkby library. Achieving such distinct designs required a forward-thinking and experimental attitude, using an amalgamation of mediums such as paint, collages, photography and acoustics in a creative manner. A cutting-edge palette breathes life into each design, as earthy browns and rich ochres are punctuated by zesty tones of green, orange and apricot.
