Ward van Gemert and Adriaan van der Ploeg, the designers of Nightshop are mainly interested in mixing elements of high culture and popular culture into their designs. Also, they’re keen on investigating the boundaries between good taste and bad taste. This is also translated in the Palazzo Della Lalala Wallpaper. The designers were introduced to NLXL by Maarten Baas. Night shop uses marker techniques in their designs, which gives the impression the designs are hand drawn on the wall.

Ward van Gemert and Adriaan van der Ploeg started collaborating in 2010 under the name of NIGHTSHOP.
