Richard Hutten originally designed Layers Wallpaper for a temporary hotel room in the Lloyd Love hotel in Tokyo. This design became part of the permanent collections of two museums: The Moti Museum in Breda, the Netherlands, and the Vancouver Art Gallery in Canada. Richard Huttens’ Layers wallpaper was originally issued in 2012 by design wall, a small Dutch wallpaper company. After the passing of the company’s founder the design was shelved. NLXL founder Rick Vintage always liked the design and approached Richard to add it to LAB 3.
